The Alps At Day-break Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAC DEDE FGFH IJIJ

The sun beams streak the azure skiesA
And line with light the mountain's browB
With hounds and horns the hunters riseA
And chase the roebuck thro' the snowC
-
From rock to rock with giant boundD
High on their iron poles they passE
Mute lest the air convuls'd by soundD
Rend from above a frozen massE
-
The goats wind slow their wonted wayF
Up craggy steeps and ridges rudeG
Mark'd by the wild wolf for his preyF
From desert cave or hanging woodH
-
And while the torrent thunders loudI
And as the echoing cliffs replyJ
The huts peep o'er the morning cloudI
Perch'd like an eagle's nest on highJ
