A Stone's Meditation Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AAAB CDEF GGHI JBKLG

How long has it beenA
How long have I beenA
How long has here beenA
How much longer will it beB
-
My memory fails me and I betray itC
So much time has gone will be gone and continues to be goneD
The rain sun and snow fade into night and dayE
The seasons are always the sameF
-
I used to be so strong and boldG
I thought of myself to be able to be both warm and coldG
But time has broken my strength and shied my boldnessH
My warn and cold has made me weak no paradox can continue to existI
-
I once was this great rock who broke off from this greater mountainJ
But with time the world around me and the world within meB
I became just a stone and some patches of dirtK
It took some time but here I am close to nothingL
I should have valued more the former I the world around and my strong and boldG

Omar Combie: I liked the symbolic use of the stone to represent people. I agree that no matter how great the mountain any of us is, we all eventually return to dust by the hands of time.
