wild animals become divinely rareA
their habitats wild homes are soft earth amp treeB
cannot flee before the bulldozer concreteC
flame and smoke desert where only wheatC
cows and crows grow where wild animalsD
and forests once the garden remainsE
and domestic wildlife love that life especiallyB
whatever shares the human cageF
the cat is all that's left of the leopardG
the snails who sip spiders' milkH
eat flowers they live as frogs once didI
when it rains and just after currawong's flightJ
rained on ooze amp wattle's blood rainy sagacityJ
gracious eucalyptus casts its own lightJ
