We were suitably dressed even the sky was grey | I |
We bull ants terrified of sadistic feet | J |
on a footpath curse the gods look in the other's | K |
eyes then look beyond to the feet | J |
The keepers of the place tell us to hurry | L |
along make space for the incoming cars | M |
They can't care it's a living to them | N |
but our hearts turn against black hearted fate | O |
We kick the backs of each other's shoes | P |
and hands in pockets shuffle back to our cars | M |
