The Cafe Bear Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCADEFAGGHIJKBLGMGN OP

Out back of the cafe a square iron cageA
made hard corners for a honey bearB
the boys saved from a bulldozerC
Crouched like a dog the cageA
wasn't tall enough to let her standD
the bear's broad necked head swayedE
misery to misery What to do withF
the poor bear so unhappy in the cageA
Bear waved with her front right pawG
You could see sad bear eyes sawG
Nothing good living life chained craveH
Her aching bellow roaredI
To the cave where her cubs should beJ
She'd harmed nothing in lifeK
She nuzzled the bars a children's bearB
never hurt a butterfly and like fetchingL
honey held out her front right pawG
beautiful claws You could see in her eyesM
and see everything sad bear eyes sawG
Would she be all right in the houseN
But dogs might get it Think about itO
The bear could use some fattening upP
