The Bride Of A Year Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDEFE GHIHJKLK FMNOPQRQ STUTVWTW XYHYZMA2O

She stands in front of her mirrorA
With bright and joyous airB
Smoothes out with a skilful handC
Her waves of golden hairB
But the tell tale roses on her cheekD
So changing yet so brightE
And downcast earnest eye betrayF
New thoughts are hers to nightE
-
Then say what is the fairy spellG
Around her beauty thrownH
Lending a new and softer charmI
To every look and toneH
It is the hidden consciousnessJ
The blissful joyous thoughtK
That she at length hath wholly wonL
The heart she long had soughtK
-
To morrow is her bridal dayF
That day of hopes and fearsM
Of partings from beloved friendsN
Of sunshine and of tearsO
To morrow will she say the wordsP
Those words whose import deepQ
Will fix her future lot in lifeR
Well might she pause and weepQ
-
Yet only once a passing cloudS
Rests on her girlish browT
Her dark eye gleameth restlesslyU
She's thinking of her vowT
But quick as light and fleecy cloudsV
Flit o'er a summer skyW
The shadow passeth from her browT
The trouble from her eyeW
-
In silvery tones she murmurs forthX
My heart is light and gladY
Youth beauty hope are all mine ownH
Then why should I be sadY
To graver hearts leave graver thoughtsZ
And all foreboding fearsM
For me life's sunshine and its flowersA2
I am too young for tearsO
