For he we mourn was a worthy son | I |

From the people s mind in North or South | L |
The deathless name of Clay | K |

Yet an exile in a foreign land | M |
His spirit passed from earth | N |
Far from the old dear scenes of home | O |
The loved land of his birth | N |
The land he had well and truly served | P |
With heart with sword with pen | Q |
Since first he had joined the march of life | R |
By the side of his fellow men | Q |

Rich fragrance round him shed | B |
The wintry light of a Northern sky | U |

Were the scenes that met his yearning gaze | W |
