Flowers And Stars Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDEFE GCHCGEIE JKLKEMNM OPQPKRSR

Beloved thou rt gazing with thoughtful lookA
On those flowers of brilliant hueB
Blushing in spring tide freshness and bloomC
Glittering with diamond dewB
What dost thou read in each chalice fairD
And what does each blossom sayE
Do they not tell thee my peerless oneF
Thou rt lovelier far than theyE
-
Not so not so but they whisper lowG
That quickly will fade their bloomC
Soon will they withered lie on the sodH
Ravished of all perfumeC
They tell that youth and beauty belowG
Are doomed alas to decayE
And I like them in life s flower and primeI
May pass from this earth awayE
-
Too sad thy thoughts Look up at yon starsJ
That gleam in the sapphire skiesK
Not clearer their radiance best belovedL
Than the light of thine own dark eyesK
With no thoughts of death or sad decayE
Can they thy young spirit fillM
Through ages they ve shone with changeless lightN
And yet they are shining stillM
-
Ah they bring before my spirit s gazeO
Dreams of that home so blessedP
Where those who have served the Master wellQ
At length from their labors restP
And do not chide if despite all tiesK
Of close clinging earthly loveR
There are times when I turn a wistful glanceS
To that distant home aboveR
