The Shadow-third Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDEFEBGHGAIJIKLML

THEY met in the old conventional wayA
And married and that was the endB
Of a little matter that touched three heartsC
A girl a man and his friendB
You see when he saw her great blue eyesD
The love of his life beganE
And well it was money the woman cravedF
Not flesh and blood and a manE
She married for money her lover's friendB
And thus it came to beG
That the man went out of life one nightH
As a wind goes out to seaG
She did not smile nor sorrow they sayA
She showed no sign of careI
But ever since 'twixt the wedded twainJ
There stands a vacant chairI
And when they stroll through the street at timesK
Or pace some garden greenL
They walk so spaced it will seem to youM
That a man might walk betweenL
