The Artist Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDEFEGHIHAJKJLMNO M

THE year has turned the cornerA
Cold June is with the deadB
And Spring the singing artistC
Is mixing gold and redB
The red is meant for rosesD
Rich roses brave and boldE
The gold is for the wattleF
'Tis delicate pale goldE
The Sun grown tired of exileG
Comes marching south againH
'Tis he that stays the west windI
That chills the hearts of menH
There shall be frond and featherA
Glad ways of greeneryJ
When Spring unveils her paintingK
For all the world to seeJ
Oh red 'twill be and goldenL
That canvas of the SouthM
N
The gold shall be a girl's hairO
The red shall be her mouthM
