Stars In The Sea Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CBDB EFEF GFGF HBHB IBIB

I took a boat on a starry nightA
and went for a row on the waterB
and she danced like a child on a wake of lightA
and bowed where the ripples caught herB
-
I vowed as I rowed on the velvet blueC
through the night and the starry spendourB
to woo and sue a maiden I knowD
till she bent to my pleading tenderB
-
My painted boat she was light and gladE
and gladder my heart was wishingF
and I came in time to a little ladE
who stood on the rocks a fishingF
-
I said Ahoy and he said AhoyG
and I asked how the fish were bitingF
And what are you trying to catch my boyG
Bream silver and red or WhitingF
-
Neither he answered the seaweed marsH
my line and the sharp shells sunderB
I am trying my luck wth those great big starsH
down there in the round skies underB
-
Goodbye from him and Goodbye from meI
and never a laugh came afterB
So many fishing for stars in the seaI
that it's hardly a subject for laughterB
