Shell-music Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCCDEEFAAGGCCDHHF AAIICCDHHFAAJJKKDCCF

YOU with the shell to your earA
What do you hearA
Slim and so whiteB
In the moonlightB
'Oh I hear surging and shouting and singingC
The sea folk at market their little bells ringingC
The tall weeds about them the green world aboveD
Oh blithe are the pedlars of ribbons and lacesE
Yet blither and sweeter upon the wide spacesE
The footfalls of Love 'F
You with the shell to your earA
What do you hearA
Waves at your feetG
White and so sweetG
'Oh I hear cooing and kissing and cooingC
The sound of sea folk in their coral groves wooingC
The red branches round them the green world aboveD
Oh sweet are the songs of the witching sea daughtersH
But sweeter far sweeter upon the wide watersH
The footfalls of Love 'F
You with the shell to your earA
What do you hearA
Large eyes aglowI
Forehead of snowI
'Oh I hear shouting and sobbing and sighingC
The sounds of the sea folk in battle rage vieingC
The torn weeds about them the green world aboveD
The merman may shout as he stumbles and slaughtersH
But ever and ever I hear on the watersH
The footfalls of Love 'F
You with the shell to your earA
What do you hearA
As you stand thereJ
Pale and so fairJ
'Oh as frost on the seaways the foam spaces glistenK
My heart is the shell to its echoes I listenK
Red petals rose petals around and aboveD
Oh sweeter far sweeter than little bells ringingC
Or market men shouting or mermaidens singingC
The footfalls of Love 'F
