Sonnet 01 Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCDEFEFGH

Go Valentine and tell that lovely maidA
Whom Fancy still will pourtray to my sightB
How her Bard lingers in this sullen shadeA
This dreary gloom of dull monastic nightB
Say that from every joy of life remoteC
At evening's closing hour he quits the throngD
Listening alone the ring dove's plaintive noteC
Who pours like him her solitary songD
Say that her absence calls the sorrowing sighE
Say that of all her charms he loves to speakF
In fancy feels the magic of her eyeE
In fancy views the smile illume her cheekF
Courts the lone hour when Silence stills the groveG
And heaves the sigh of Memory and of LoveH
