Inscription 05 - For A Monument At Silbury-hill Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFGHIJKL

This mound in some remote and dateless dayA
Rear'd o'er a Chieftain of the Age of HillsB
May here detain thee Traveller from thy roadC
Not idly lingering In his narrow houseD
Some Warrior sleeps below his gallant deedsE
Haply at many a solemn festivalF
The Bard has harp'd but perish'd is the songG
Of praise as o'er these bleak and barren downsH
The wind that passes and is heard no moreI
Go Traveller on thy way and contemplateJ
Glory's brief pageant and remember thenK
That one good deed was never wrought in vainL
