Inscription 04 - For The Apartment In Chepstow-castle Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFGHIAJKLMNO

For thirty years secluded from mankindA
Here Marten linger'd Often have these wallsB
Echoed his footsteps as with even treadC
He paced around his prison not to himD
Did Nature's fair varieties existE
He never saw the Sun's delightful beamsF
Save when thro' yon high bars it pour'd a sadG
And broken splendor Dost thou ask his crimeH
He had rebell'd against the King and satI
In judgment on him for his ardent mindA
Shaped goodliest plans of happiness on earthJ
And peace and liberty Wild dreams But suchK
As PLATO lov'd such as with holy zealL
Our MILTON worshipp'd Blessed hopes awhileM
From man withheld even to the latter daysN
When CHRIST shall come and all things be fulfill'dO
