A world of wonder and delight | A |
My magic lenses brought | C |
- | |
Aye sudden leaping in my sight | A |
The far became the near | D |
Life unbelievably was bright | A |
And vividly was clear | D |
My heart was lifted with delight | A |
Then then I shrank in fear | D |
- | |
For faces I had thought were gay | E |
I saw were lined with care | F |
While strange corruption and decay | E |
Surprised me everywhere | F |
Dismayed I put my specs away | E |
Such truth I could not bear | F |
- | |
And now I do not want to see | G |
With clarity of view | H |
For while there's heaven hell may be | G |
More tragically true | H |
Though dim may be Reality | G |
Sheer love shines through | H |
