The Search Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDEF GHGHDIFI IJIJKDKF

Happiness a roving roundA
For a sweet abiding placeB
In a stately palace foundA
Symmetry and gilded graceB
Courtliness and table cheerC
All that chimes with evening dressD
I could never stick it hereE
Swift decided HappinessF
-
Happiness a seeking stillG
In a mansion of the townH
Comfort crammed to overspillG
Sought in vain to settle downH
Every nook strained to expressD
Opulent prosperityI
But Alas said HappinessF
This is not my cup of teaI
-
In a cottage by the seaI
Most monastically bareJ
Happiness peered wistfullyI
And he spied me waiting thereJ
Stay said I No need to roamK
Though no riches I possessD
Squat and make yourself at homeK
Say that's swell said HappinessF
