The Score Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABACDBDC EEE FGF HEHEGEGE

I asked a silver sageA
With race nigh runB
'Tell me in old of ageA
Your wisdom won 'C
Said he 'From fret and strifeD
And vain vexationB
The all I've learned from lifeD
Is Resignation 'C
-
I asked a Bard who thrummedE
A harp clay coldE
'How is your story summedE
Now you are old '-
Though golden voice was hisF
And fame had heG
He sighed 'The finish isF
Futility '-
-
I'm old I have no wealthH
Toil to rewardE
Yet for the boon of healthH
I thank the LordE
While Beauty I can seeG
To live is goodE
And so life's crown to meG
Is GratitudeE
