The Learner Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCD CECEFGFG HDHDIFIF

I've learned Of all the friends I've wonA
Dame Nature is the bestB
And to her like a child I runA
Craving her mother breastB
To comfort me in soul distressC
And in green glade to findD
Far from the world's unlovelinessC
Pure peace of mindD
-
I've learned the worth of simple waysC
And though I've loved to roamE
I know the glow of hearth ablazeC
The bliss of coming homeE
I'd rather wear old clothes than newF
I'd rather walk than driveG
And as my wants are oh so fewF
I joy to be aliveG
-
I've learned that happiness is allH
A sweetness of the mindD
And would you purge your heart of gallH
Try being kindD
Then when some weaker one you aidI
Believe it trueF
'Tis God Himself will make the gradeI
Less hard for youF
