The Healer Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCC DEDEFF GHGHII BABAJJ

Tuberculosis should not beA
The old professor saidB
If folks would hearken unto meA
'Twould save a million deadB
Nay no consumptive needs to dieC
A cure have IC
-
From blood of turtle I've distilledD
An elixir of worthE
Let every sufferer be thrilledD
And sing for joy of earthE
Yet every doctor turns his backF
And calls me quackF
-
Alas They do not want to cureG
For sickness is their meatH
So persecution I endureG
And die in dark defeatH
Ye lungers listen to my callI
I'll save you allI
-
The old Professor now is deadB
And turtles of the seaA
Knowing their blood they need not shedB
Are festive in their gleeA
While sanitoriums are crammedJ
With legions dammedJ
