The Bohemian Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AAABCCCB DDDBAAAB EEEBFFDB GGGBDDDB

Up in my garret bleak and bareA
I tilted back on my broken chairA
And my three old pals were with me thereA
Hunger and Thirst and ColdB
Hunger scowled at his scurvy mateC
Cold cowered down by the hollow grateC
And I hated them with a deadly hateC
As old as life is oldB
-
So up in my garret that's near the skyD
I smiled a smile that was thin and dryD
You've roomed with me twenty year said ID
Hunger and Thirst and ColdB
But now begone down the broken stairA
I've suffered enough of your spite so thereA
Bang Bang I slapped on the table bareA
A glittering heap of goldB
-
Red flames will jewel my wine to nightE
I'll loose my belt that you've lugged so tightE
Ha Ha Dame Fortune is smiling brightE
The stuff of my brain I've soldB
Canaille of the gutter up AwayF
You've battened on me for a bitter long dayF
But I'm driving you forth and forever and ayeD
Hunger and Thirst and ColdB
-
So I kicked them out with a scornful roarG
Yet oh they turned at the garret doorG
Quietly there they spoke once moreG
The tale is not all toldB
It's au revoir but it's not good byD
We're yours old chap till the day you dieD
Laugh on you fool Oh you'll never defyD
Hunger and Thirst and ColdB
