Roulette Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCC DEDEFF GHGHII JKJKLL MNMNOO PHPHQQ

I'll wait until my money's goneA
Before I take the sleeping pillsB
Then when they find me in the dawnA
Remote from earthly ails and illsB
They'll say She's broke the foreign bitchC
And dump me in the common ditchC
-
So thought I of all hope bereftD
And by my evil fate obsessedE
A thousand franks was all I'd leftD
Of that fair fortune I possessedE
I throw it on the table thereF
And wait with on my lips a prayerF
-
I fear my very life's at stakeG
My note is lying on the RedH
I know I'll lose it then I'll takeG
My pills and sleep until I'm deadH
Oh God of mercy understandI
In pity guide the croupier's handI
-
My heart beats hard my lips are dryJ
I feel I cannot bear to lookK
I dread to hear the croupier's cryJ
I'll sit down in this quiet nookK
The lights go dim my senses reelL
See Jesus Christ is at the wheelL
-
-
-
Kind folks arouse me from my tranceM
The Red has come ten times they sayN
Oh do not risk another chanceM
Please Lady take your gains awayN
And to the Lord of Luck give thanksO
You've won nigh half a million franksO
-
Aye call me just a daft old dameP
I knit and sew to make my breadH
And nevermore I'll play that gameP
For I've a glory in my headH
Ah well I know to stay my fallQ
'Twas our dear Lord who spun the ballQ
