Ripe Fruit Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCD EFEFGDGD HIHIFJFJ KFKFLBLB

Through eyelet holes I watched the crowdA
Rain of confetti flingB
Their joy is lush their laughter loudA
For Carnival is KingB
Behind his chariot I paceC
To ean my petty payD
They laugh to see my monster faceC
Ripe Fruit I hear them sayD
-
I do not laugh my shoulders sagE
No heart have I for gleeF
Because I hold aloft a hagE
Who grins enough for meF
A hideous harridan who bearsG
In crapulous displayD
Like two grub eaten mouldy pearsG
Her bubbies on a trayD
-
Ripe Fruit Oh God It's hell to thinkH
How I have drifted downI
Through vice and dice and dope and drinkH
To play the sordid clownI
That I who held the golden keyF
To operatic fameJ
Should gnaw the crust of miseryF
And drain the dregs of shameJ
-
What matter I'll get soused to nightK
And happy I will beF
To sit within a tavern brightK
A trollop on my kneeF
So let the crazy pipers pipeL
And let the rapture ringB
Ripe fruit am I yea rotten ripeL
And Carnival is KingB
