Property Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCD EFEFBGBG HIHIJGJG GKGKCLCL

The red roofed house of dream designA
Looks three ways on the seaB
For fifty years I've made it mineA
And held it part of meB
The pines I planted in my youthC
Triumpantly are tallD
Yet now I know with sorry soothC
I have to leave it allD
-
Hard hewn from out the living rockE
And salty from the tideF
My house has braved the tempest shockE
With hardihood and prideF
Each nook is memoried to meB
I've loved its every stoneG
And cried to it exultantlyB
My own my very ownG
-
Poor fool To think that I possessH
I have but cannot holdI
And all that's mine is less and lessH
My own as I grow oldI
My home shall ring with childish cheersJ
When I shall leave it loneG
My house will bide a hundred yearsJ
When I am in the boneG
-
Alas No thing can be my ownG
At most a life long leaseK
Is all I hold a little loanG
From Time that soon will ceaseK
For now by faint and failing breathC
I feel that I must goL
Old House You've never known a deathC
Well now's your hour to knowL
