The game of life's to get the dough | C |

Take Brother Bill he used to be | D |
The big shot of the family | D |
The first at school | E |
But since about a year ago | C |
Through readin' Longfeller and Poe | C |
He's most a fool | E |

You might as well jest not be there | F |
The way he looks | G |
You'd think he shuns the human race | H |
The how he buries down his face | H |
In highbrow books | G |
I've seen him stand for near an hour | I |
Jest starin' at a simple flower | I |
Sich waste o' time | J |
The scribblin' on an envelope | K |
Why most of all his silly dope | K |
Don't even rhyme | J |

Now Brother's Jim's an engineer | L |
And Brother Tim's a bank cashier | L |
While I keep store | B |
Yet Bill the brightest of the flock | M |
Might be a lawyer or a doc | M |
And then some more | B |
But no he moons and loafs about | N |
As if he tried to figger out | N |
Why skies are blue | O |
Instead o' gittin' down to grips | P |
Wi' life an' stackin' up the chips | P |
Like me an' you | O |

We're mournin' for our Brother Pote | Q |
Bill crossed the sea | D |
And solved his problem with the beat | R |
For now he lies in peace and rest | S |
In Normandie | D |
He died the bravest of the brave | T |
And here I'm standin' by his grave | T |
So far from home | U |
With just a wooden cross to tell | V |
How in the blaze of battle hell | V |
As gloriously there he fell | V |
