Old Engine Driver Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCD EFEGHIHI JKJLMBMN

For five and twenty years I've runA
A famous trainB
But now my spell of speed is doneA
No more I'll strainB
My sight along the treadless tracksC
The gleamy railsD
My hand upon the throttle slacksC
My vision failsD
-
No more I'll urge my steed of steelE
Through hostile nightsF
No more the mastery I'll feelE
Of monster mightG
I'll miss the hiss of giant steamH
The clank the roarI
The agony of brakes that screamH
I'll hear no moreI
-
Oh I have held within my handJ
A million livesK
And now my son takes commandJ
And proudly drivesL
While from my cottage wistfullyM
I watch his trainB
And wave and wave and seem to seeM
Myself againN
