Since Jack and Jim and Joe | B |
Have hit the trail to Kingdom Come | A |
And left me here below | B |
Since Death the bastard bowled them out | C |
And left me faced with Doubt | C |
- | |
My pals have all passed out on me | D |
And I am by my lone | E |
Old Bill was last and now I see | D |
His name cut on a stone | E |
A marble slab but not as fine | F |
As I have picked for mine | F |
- | |
I nurse and curse rheumatic pain | G |
As on the porch I sit | H |
With nothing special in my brain | G |
I rock and smoke and spit | H |
When one is nearing to the end | I |
One sorely needs a friend | I |
- | |
My Pals have gone in God's good earth | J |
I guess they're packed up snug | K |
And since I have no guts for mirth | J |
I zipper to my mug | K |
The question that I ponder on | L |
Is where the heck they've gone | M |
