O Lovely Lie Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDED BFBGBHBI FJGJKAKA

I told a truth a tragic truthA
That tore the sullen skyB
A million shuddered at my soothA
And anarchist was IB
Red righteousness was in my wordC
To winnow evil chaffD
Yet while I swung crusading swordE
I heard the devil laughD
-
I framed a lie a rainbow lieB
To glorify a thoughtF
And none was so surprised as IB
When fast as fire it caughtG
Like honey people lapped my lieB
And peddled it abroadH
Till in a lift of sunny skyB
I saw the smile of GodI
-
If falsehood may be best I thoughtF
To hell with verityJ
Dark truth may be a cancer spotG
'Twere better not to seeJ
Aye let a lie be big and boldK
Yet ripe with hope and ruthA
Beshrew me but its heart may holdK
More virtue than the truthA
