My Masterpiece Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCD EFEFGDGD FDFDDDDD

It's slim and trim and bound in blueA
Its leaves are crisp and edged with goldB
Its words are simple stalwart tooA
Its thoughts are tender wise and boldB
Its pages scintillate with witC
Its pathos clutches at my throatD
Oh how I love each line of itC
That Little Book I Never WroteD
-
In dreams I see it praised and prizedE
By all from plowman unto peerF
It's pencil marked and memorizedE
It's loaned and not returned I fearF
It's worn and torn and travel tossedG
And even dusky natives quoteD
That classic that the world has lostG
The Little Book I Never WroteD
-
Poor ghost For homes you've failed to cheerF
For grieving hearts uncomfortedD
Don't haunt me now Alas I fearF
The fire of Inspiration's deadD
A humdrum way I go to nightD
From all I hoped and dreamed remoteD
Too late a better man must writeD
That Little Book I Never WroteD
