My Indian Summer Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABCDEFFGGHHAA AAAAIIJKLLMMAA AABBAANNOOPPAA

Here in the Autumn of my daysA
My life is mellowed in a hazeA
Unpleasant sights are none to clearB
Discordant sounds I hardly hearC
Infirmities like buffers softD
Sustain me tranquilly aloftE
I'm deaf to duffers blind to boresF
Peace seems to percolate my poresF
I fold my hands keep quiet mindG
In dogs and children joy I findG
With temper tolerant and mildH
Myself you'd almost think a childH
Yea I have come on pleasant waysA
Here in the Autumn of my daysA
-
Here in the Autumn of my daysA
I can allow myself to lazeA
To rest and give myself to dreamsA
Life never was so sweet it seemsA
I haven't lost my sense of smellI
My taste buds never served so wellI
I love to eat delicious foodJ
Has never seemed one half so goodK
In tea and coffee I delightL
I smoke and sip my grog at nightL
I have a softer sense of touchM
For comfort I enjoy so muchM
My skis are far more blues than greysA
Here in the Autumn of my daysA
-
Here in the Autumn of my daysA
My heart is full of peace and praiseA
Yet though I know that Winter's nearB
I'll meet and greet it with a cheerB
With friendly books with cosy firesA
And few but favourite desiresA
I'll live from strife and woe apartN
And make a Heaven in my heartN
For Goodness I have learned is bestO
And should by Kindness be expressedO
And so December with a smileP
I'll wait and welcome but meanwhileP
Blest interlude The Gods I praiseA
For this the Autumn of my daysA
