My Husky Team Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCACA DEDFGCAC HIJIKBAB LMNMOBOB

I met an ancient man who mushedA
With Peary to the PoleB
Said I In all that land so hushedA
What most inspired your soulB
He looked at me with bleary eyeC
He scratched a hoary headA
You know that Sourdoughs jest cain't lieC
So here's the dope he saidA
-
That hike was like a devil's dreamD
Just blizzards gales and fogsE
But I was leadin' wi' my teamD
O' seven husky dogsF
Day after day I steered my sleighG
Yet spry o' heart was IC
And every night the Northern LightA
Danced ballys in the skyC
-
Them dogs o' mine seemed to divineH
Their mighty destinyI
They howled with joy and like a boyJ
I jined them in their gleeI
While like a spark from out the darkK
Fame spurred us to our goalB
On on we sped the winnin' sledA
To gain the Pole the POLEB
-
I saw it clear I raised a cheerL
I knowed the prize was wonM
The huskies too like wind they flewN
Them critters sure could runM
The light was dim the site was grimO
But sunshine swept my soulB
To see each husky lift a limbO
And irrigate the PoleB
