Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCD EFEFGFGF FHFHGFGF

When looking back I dimly seeA
The trails my feet have trodB
Some hand divine it seems to meA
Has pulled the strings with GodB
Some angel form has lifeward leanedC
When hope for me was pastD
Some love sublime has intervenedC
To save me at the lastD
-
For look you I was born a foolE
Damnation was my fateF
My lot to drivel and to droolE
Egregious and frutrateF
But in the deep of my despairG
When dark my doom was writF
Some saving hand was always thereG
to pull me from the PitF
-
A Guardian Angel how absurdF
I scoff at Power DivineH
And yet a someone spoke the wordF
That willed me from the swineH
And yet despite my scorn of prayerG
My lack of love or friendF
I know a Presence will be thereG
To save me at the endF
