My Favourite Fan Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: ABABCC DEDEFF GHGHII JKJKLL MNMOPQQBeing a writer I receive | A |
Sweet screeds from folk of every land | B |
Some are so weird you'd scarce believe | A |
And some quite hard to understand | B |
But as a conscientious man | C |
I type my thanks to all I can | C |
- | |
So when I got a foreign scrawl | D |
That spider webbed across the page | E |
Said I This is the worst of all | D |
No doubt a child of tender age | E |
Has written it so I'll be kind | F |
And send an answer to her mind | F |
- | |
Promptly I typed a nice reply | G |
And thought that it would be the end | H |
But in due course confused was I | G |
To get a letter signed Your Friend | H |
And with it full of girlish grace | I |
A snapshot of a winsome face | I |
- | |
I am afraid she wrote to me | J |
That you must have bees sure surprised | K |
At my poor penmanship You see | J |
My arms and legs are paralyzed | K |
With pen held in a sort of sheath | L |
I do my writing with my teeth | L |
- | |
Though sadness followed my amaze | M |
And pity too I must confess | N |
The look that lit her laughing gaze | M |
Was one of sunny happiness | O |
Oh spirit of a heroine | P |
Your smile so tender so divine | Q |
I pray may never cease to shine | Q |
