My Cross Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABACAC DEDEFGFG HIHIJKJK LMNMOEOE

I wrote a poem to the moonA
But no one noticed itB
Although I hoped that late or soonA
Someone would praise a bitB
Its purity and grace forloneA
Its beauty tulip coolC
But as my poem died still bornA
I felt a foolC
-
I wrote a verse of vulgar trendD
Spiced with an oath or twoE
I tacked a snapper at the endD
And called it Dan McGrewE
I spouted it to bar room boysF
Full fifty years awayG
Yet still with rude and ribald noiseF
It lives todayG
-
'Tis bitter truth but there you areH
That's how a name is madeI
Write of a rose a lark a starH
You'll never make the gradeI
But write of gutter and of grimeJ
Of pimp and prostituteK
The multitude will read your rhymeJ
And pay to bootK
-
So what's the use to burn and bleedL
And strive for beauty's sakeM
No one your poetry will readN
Your heart will only breakM
But set your song in vulgar pitchO
If rhyme you will not rueE
And make your heroine a bitchO
Like Lady LouE
