My Book Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABACDD EFEFGH IJIJKK LMLMNN OPOQBB KRSTUU

Before I drink myself to deathA
God let me finish up my BookB
At night I fear I fight for breathA
And wake up whiter than a spookC
And crawl off to a bistro nearD
And drink until my brain is clearD
-
Rare Absinthe Oh it gives me strengthE
To write and write and so I spendF
Day after day until at lengthE
With joy and pain I'll write The EndF
Then let this carcase rot I giveG
The world my Book my Book will liveH
-
For every line is tense with truthI
There's hope and joy on every pageJ
A cheer a clarion call to YouthI
A hymn a comforter to AgeJ
All's there that I was meant to beK
My part divine the God in meK
-
It's of my life the golden sumL
Ah who that reads this Book of mineM
In stormy centuries to comeL
Will dream I rooted with the swineM
Behold I give mankind my bestN
What does it matter all the restN
-
It's this that makes sublime my dayO
It's this that makes me struggle onP
Oh let them mock my mortal clayO
My spirit's deathless as the dawnQ
Oh let them shudder as they lookB
I'll be immortal in my BookB
-
And so beside the sullen SeineK
I fight with dogs for filthy foodR
Yet know that from my sin and painS
Will soar serene a Something GoodT
Exultantly from shame and wrongU
A Right a Glory and a SongU
