His legs were white as mayonnaise | B |
I've had a jolly lunch he said | A |
That Englishman of pleasant ways | B |
Thy do us well at our hotel | C |
In England food is dull these days | B |
- | |
We had a big langouste for lunch | D |
I almost ate the whole of it | E |
And now I'll smoke and read my Punch | D |
And maybe siesta a bit | E |
And then I'll plunge into the sea | F |
And get an appetite for tea | F |
- | |
We saw him plunge into the sea | F |
With jolly laugh his wife and I | G |
George does enjoy his food said she | F |
In Leeds lobsters are hard to buy | G |
How lucky we to have a chance | H |
To spend our holiday in France | H |
- | |
And so we watched him swim and swim | I |
So far and far we scarce could see | F |
Until his balding head grew dim | I |
And then there came his children three | F |
And we all waited there for him | I |
Ah yes a little anxiously | F |
- | |
But George alas came never back | J |
Of him they failed to find a trace | K |
His wife and kids are wearing black | J |
And miss a lot his jolly face | K |
But oh how all the lobsters laugh | L |
And write in wrack his epitaph | L |
