I Will Not Fight Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCCDD EEFFGG HHIIJJ

I will not fight though proud of pithA
I hold no one worth striving withB
And should resentment burn my breastC
I deem that silence serves me bestC
So having not a word to sayD
Contemptuous I turn awayD
-
I will not fret my rest of lifeE
Free I will keep from hate and strifeE
Let lust and sin and anger sleepF
I will not delve the subsoil deepF
But be content with inch of earthG
Where daisies have their birthG
-
I will not grieve Till day be doneH
I will be tranquil in the sunH
With garden glow and quiet nookI
And song of bird and spell of bookI
God bless you all I will not fightJ
But love and dream until GoodnightJ
