I Have Some Friends Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDB AEFEGE AHIHBH AJJKJ LMNMOM

I have some friends some worthy friendsA
And worthy friends are rareB
These carpet slippers on my feetC
That padded leather chairB
This old and shabby dressing gownD
So well the worse of wearB
-
I have some friends some honest friendsA
And honest friends are fewE
My pipe of briar my open fireF
A book that's not too newE
My bed so warm the nights of stormG
I love to listen toE
-
I have some friends some good good friendsA
Who faithful are to meH
My wrestling partner when I riseI
The big and burly seaH
My little boat that's riding thereB
So saucy and so freeH
-
I have some friends some golden friendsA
Whose worth will not declineJ
A tawny Irish terrier a purple shading pineJ
A little red roofed cottage thatK
So proudly I call mineJ
-
All other friends may come and goL
All other friendships failM
But these the friends I've worked to winN
Oh they will never staleM
And comfort me till Time shall writeO
The finish to my taleM
