Humility Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDED DFDFGHGH FIFIJKJK LALAMFMF

I met upon a narrow wayA
Dead weary from his toilB
A fellow warped and gnarled and greyA
Who reeked of sweat and soilB
His rags were readyful to rotC
His eyes were dreary dimD
Yet yet I had the humble thoughtE
To raise my hat to himD
-
For thinks I It's the likes of himD
That makes the likes of meF
With horny hand and lagging limbD
He slaves to keep me freeF
That I may have a golden timeG
And praise the Lord on highH
Life grinds into the bloody grimeG
A better man than IH
-
Yet if in sheer humilityF
I yield this yokel placeI
Will he not think it mockeryF
And spit into my faceI
Saying How can you care a damnJ
As now my way you barK
When it's because of what I amJ
You Sir are what you areK
-
But no he did not speak like thatL
Nor homage did I payA
I did not lift my bowler hatL
To greet his common clayA
Instead he made me feel an assM
As most respectfullyF
He stepped aside to let me passM
And raised his cap to MEF
