Hobo Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCD EFEGHIHI DDADJKLK MNMNOPOP

A father's pride I used to knowA
A mother's love was mineB
For swinish husks I let them goA
And bedded with the swineB
Since then I've come on evil daysC
And most of life is hellD
But even swine have winsome waysC
When once you know them wellD
-
One time I guessed I'd cease to roamE
And greet the folks againF
And so I rode the rods to homeE
And through the window paneG
I saw them weary worn and greyH
I gazed from the garden gloomI
And like sweet shiny saints were theyH
Int taht sweet shiny roomI
-
D'ye think I hollored out HulloD
The prodigal to playD
And eat the fatted calf Ah noA
I cursed and ran awayD
My eyes were blears of whisky tearsJ
As to a pub I ranK
But once at least I beat the beastL
And proved myself a manK
-
Oh some day I am going backM
But I'll have gold galoreN
I'll wear a suit of sobber blackM
And knock upon the doorN
I'l tell them how I've made a stakeO
We'll have the grandest timeP
Say Mister give a guy a breakO
For Chrissake spare a dimeP
