Growing Old Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCD EFEFGDGD HIHIJDJJD

Somehow the skies don't seem so blueA
As they used to beB
Blossoms have a fainter hueA
Grass less green I seeB
There's no twinkle in a starC
Dawns don't seem so goldD
Yet of course I know they areC
Guess I'm growing oldD
-
Somehow sunshine seems less brightE
Birds less gladly singF
Moons don't thrill me with delightE
There's no kick in SpringF
Hills are steeper now and I'mG
Sensitive to coldD
Lines are not so keen to rhymeG
Gosh I'm growing oldD
-
Yet in spite of failing thingsH
I've no cause to grieveI
Age with all its ailing bringsH
Blessings I believeI
Kindo' gentles up the mindJ
As the hope we holdD
That with loving we will findJ
Friendliness in human kindJ
Grace in growing oldD
