Since flowers are my joy and care | C |

Yes I'm an ugly warped old man | F |
For I have lived in Fate's despite | E |
A year beyond one's mortal span | F |
And owe my health no gentle toil | G |
From dawn to dark contented hours | H |
Of loving kinship with the soil | G |
A friend of flowers | H |

My dahlias are my pride today | I |
And many my creations be | J |
They're worth a fortune people say | I |
But what does money mean to me | J |
Their glory is my rich reward | K |
And as their radiant heads they raise | L |
I dedicate them to the Lord | K |
With love and praise | L |

I grieve to think that sullen Powers | H |
On bombs and guns their might depend | M |
If man had heart for growing flowers | H |
Then would we all be friend and friend | M |
The glory of the world is his | N |
Who seeks salvation in the sod | O |
And finds that golden sunshine is | N |
