Evenfall Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCD EFEEEDED EGEGHDHD

When day is done I steal awayA
To fold my hands in restB
And of my hours this moment greyA
I love the bestB
So quietly I sit aloneC
And wait for evenfallD
When in the dusk doves sweetly moanC
And crickets callD
-
With heart of humble gratitudeE
How it is good to bideF
And know the joy of solitudeE
In eventideE
When one is slow and slips a bitE
And life begins to pallD
How sweet it is in peace to sitE
At evenfallD
-
I play upon a simple luteE
My notes are faint and fewG
But ere my melodies be muteE
Pray one be trueG
Lord let the theme be thankfulnessH
And as I wait my callD
More than noon rapture let me blessH
Life's evenfallD
