Behold yon starry host ashine | B |
When Heaven's harmony you see | A |
How can you doubt control divine | B |
Law order and design | B |

Nay Sire said I I do not doubt | C |
The spheres in cosmic pattern spin | B |
But what I try to puzzle out | C |
Is that if Law and Order win | B |
Where does mere man come in | B |

If to the millionth of a hair | D |
Cause and Effect are welded true | E |
Then there's no leeway anywhere | D |
And all we do we have to do | E |
And sun and atom too | E |

O Stars sing in your harmony | A |
O Constellations raptly shine | B |
Flout me because I am not free | A |
Mock me because no choice is mine | B |
O Beauty it so hurts to see | A |
O damnable Design | B |
