Conqueror Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AAAABCBC ADADEAEA FGFGAHAH

Though I defy the howling hordeA
As bloody browed I smiteA
Back to the wall with shattered swordA
When darkly dooms the nightA
Though hoarse they cheer as I go downB
Before their bitter oddsC
'Tis I who win the victor's crownB
The guerdon of the godsC
-
For all who fall in fearless fightA
Alight a deathless flameD
That glorifies the godless nightA
And fills the foe with shameD
'Tis they who triumph heaven highE
And so in hell's despiteA
Be mine the dauntless will to dieE
In battle for the rightA
-
The rant and cant of futile folkF
Break brittle in my earsG
Let me cast off the cursed yokeF
And fall upon the spearsG
Aye though they mock my broken bladeA
And stamp and spit on meH
Mine is the Shining AccoladeA
The Star of VictoryH
