Confetti In The Wind Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCD ECEFGHGH IJIJCKFK

He wrote a letter in his mindA
To answer one a maid had sentB
He sought the fitting word to findA
As on by hill and rill he wentB
By bluebell wood and hawthorn laneC
The cadence sweet and silken phraseD
He incubated in his brainC
For days and daysD
-
He wrote his letter on a pageE
Of paper with a satin grainC
It did not ring so in a rageE
He tore it up and tried againF
Time after time he drafted itG
He polished it all through the nightH
He tuned and pruned till bit by bitG
He got it rightH
-
He took his letter to the postI
Yet long he held it in his handJ
Strangely his mood had veered almostI
Reversed he could not understandJ
The girl was vague the words were vainC
April romance had come to griefK
He tore his letter up againF
Oh blest reliefK
