Cardiac Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCC DEDEFF GHIHJJ DEDEC

A mattock high he swungA
I watched him at his toilB
With never gulp of lungA
He gashed the ruddy soilB
Thought I I'd give my wealthC
To have his healthC
-
With fortune I would partD
And privilege resignE
Could I but have his heartD
And he have mineE
Then suddenly I knewF
My wish was trueF
-
Like him I swung with aweG
He marked my steady breathH
Then suddenly I sawI
That he was sick to deathH
My heart in him was frailJ
And seemed to failJ
-
Said I 'Take back your heartD
And I will bear with mineE
Poor lad All wealth apartD
'Tis murder I designE
Not all a Nabob's wealthC
Is worth your health '-
