Rhyme Scheme: AABBBBCCDEED AADFFDGGHIIJ AAKLLMNNDNND AADCCDIIOEEO

The daughter of the village MaireA
Is very fresh and very fairA
A dazzling eyefulB
She throws upon me such a spellB
That though my love I dare not tellB
My heart is sighfulB
She has the cutest brown canicheC
The French for poodle on a leashC
While I have BingoD
A dog of doubtful pedigreeE
Part pug or pom or chow maybeE
But full of stingoD
-
The daughter of the village MaireA
Would like to speak with me I'll swearA
In her sweet lingoD
But parlez vous I find a boreF
For I am British to the coreF
And so is BingoD
Yet just to day as we passed byG
Our two dogs haulted eye to eyeG
In friendly posesH
Oh how I hope to morrow theyI
Will wag their tails in merry playI
And rub their nosesJ
-

-
The daughter of the village MaireA
Today gave me a frigid stareA
My hopes are blightedK
I'll tell you how it came to passL
Last evening in the Square alasL
My sweet I sightedM
And as she sauntered with her petN
Her dainty her adored FroletteN
I cried By JingoD
Well call it chance or call it fateN
I made a dash Too late too lateN
Oh naughty BingoD
-
The daughter of the village MaireA
That you'll forgive me is my prayerA
And also BingoD
You should have shielded your canicheC
You saw my dog strain on his leashC
And like a spring goD
They say that Love will find a wayI
It definitely did that dayI
Oh canine noodlesO
Now it is only left to meE
To wonder will your offspring beE
Poms pugs or poodlesO
