Bastard Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DEDF GH IH AJAJ KHKH LMLM NANA MOMO HPHP

The very skies wee black with shameA
As near my moment drewB
The very hour before you camC
I felt I hated youB
-
But now I see how fair you areD
How divine your eyesE
It seems I step upon a starD
To leap to ParadiseF
-
What care I who your father wasG
'Twas better no to knowH
-
You're mine and mine alone becauseI
I love and love you soH
-
What though you only bear my nameA
I hold my head on highJ
For none shall have a right to claimA
A right to you but IJ
-
Because I've borne a human lifeK
I'm worthier I knowH
Than those who flaunt the name of wifeK
And have no seed to showH
-
I have fulfilled I think with joyL
My women's destinyM
And glad am I you are a boyL
For you will fight for meM
-
And maybe there will come a dayN
You'll bear a famous nameA
And men will be ashamed to sayN
He was a child of shameA
-
A day will dawn divinely freeM
With love in every breastO
When every child will welcome beM
And every mother blestO
-
When every women wed or noH
Will deem her highest goodP
On grateful mankind to bestowH
The Gift of MotherhoodP
