At The Parade Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCD EFEFGG HIHIJJ EKEKLL

I cannot flap a flagA
Or beat a drumB
Behind the mob I lagA
With larynx dumbB
Alas I fear I'm notC
A PatriotD
-
With acrid eyes I seeE
The soul of thingsF
And equal unto meE
Are cooks and kingsF
I would not cross the streetG
A duke to meetG
-
Oh curse me for a foolH
To be so proudI
To stand so still and coolH
Amid the crowdI
For President or PeerJ
God let me cheerJ
-
But no despite the gleeE
My heart is coldK
I think that it may beE
Because I'm oldK
I'm dumb where millions yellL
Oh what the hellL
